| Austin Kids Clothing is dedicated to providing high quality clothing made from natural fabrics which stretch and move with your child. All our clothing is hand dyed. The reactive dying process we use actually bonds the dye to the fabric so it won't wash out or fade over time. And many of our clothes are designed with tactile sensitivity and sensory integration issues in mind--no irritating tags or scratchy appliques. Look for the SoftTouch designation on these clothes. |
My three girls love clothes, but are very particular about what they will wear. For eight years, I have been sewing for them and modifying many of their store-bought clothes. After working part-time from home, it became necessary for me to change jobs. I couldn't bear the thought of having to work full-time and not be available for my kids--volunteering in their classrooms and be home for them after-school snack. With the help and encouragement of a friend (see dedication page) I decided to start this business. It is definitely a full-time job (and then some!) but it is something I am passionate about and do with my children. As a matter of fact, many of the motifs are designed by my girls. I hope my passion shows in my products, and I hope your kids enjoy them as much as mine do. The feel of clothes on their skin is extremely important to tactile sensitive children, and also to children with sensitive skin. Austin Kids Clothing Company is dedicated to providing children's clothing with no irritating tags, seams, appliqués, etc. Borne from the frustration of dressing my own tactile sensitive children, I decided to create a line of children's clothing that would pass muster with my kids. Many of the clothes are made from jersey knit which stretches and moves with your child.  Our children's clothing is produced from all natural fibers--cotton, hemp, Modal--that feel good and wear great. Hemp is four times stronger than cotton. gets softer with each wash and lasts and lasts. Modal is made from Beachwood and is the softest thing I've ever felt.  Well, you be the judge. Reactive dyeing of each garment actually bonds the dye to the fabric so it won't fade or wash out. Relief motifs (removing the color in specific areas) allow for unlimited decorating possibilities. Specialty dyeing methods such as tie-dye, dye stamping, marbling and more produce a wide variety of finishes for you to choose from. |
